How we create and maintain medicine information

Our editorial process prioritizes traceable sources, precise wording and visible uncertainty.

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Source hierarchy

  1. Primary official sources: regulator-approved labels, assessment reports and official medicines databases.
  2. Manufacturer or supplier sources: used for identity, pack and listing details, with attribution.
  3. Secondary sources: used only when appropriate and clearly identified.

Claims and wording

We avoid unsupported claims of approval, equivalence, authenticity, safety, effectiveness, urgency, superiority or guaranteed supply. Conflicts between sources are documented or excluded until resolved.

Commercial and AI assistance

Commercial referral relationships are disclosed. AI tools may assist drafting, translation, formatting and quality checks, but generated text is not treated as a source. Published medical claims must be traceable to cited evidence.

Review cycle

Pages display their review status and data-check date. Material updates to official information should trigger an earlier review. Non-English translations should receive native-speaker and medical review before they are treated as final.
